Ceremony at Paraplegic Center Peshawar held

Peshawar: A ceremony held on Tuesday at Paraplegic Center Peshawar to mark a milestone achieved by the center, i.e. successful completion of community follow up Program for those Spinal Cord Injured individuals who got rehabilitated and educated at the center. This activity is the first of its kind in entire Pakistan.

Mr. Gohar Rehman, who has been implementing the project. Other speakers included Mr. Xavier (Head of sub delegation ICRC), Dr.Syed Muhammd Ilyas (C.E.O Paraplegic Center Peshawar) and the Chief Guest Mr. Mehmood Jan (Chairman Standing Committee for Health), Provincial Legislative Assembly Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

Mr. Xavier appreciated the comprehensive approach of PCP towards the rehabilitation of SCI patients. He showed his deep satisfaction over the successful completion of this project and applauded the beneficiaries of their patience and the staff for their commitment.

Dr.Ilyas thanked the ICRC team for their time tested support and the honorable Chief Guest for throwing his weight behind the cause PCP has been up-holding since very long. He announced to expand the SCI rehabilitation activities to other districts of KPK and requested the ICRC, other Non Government Organizations and the Govt. through the Chief Guest for their support on as and when needed basis.

Mr. Mehmood Jan (Chairman Standing Committee for Health) addressed the audience. He extended his generous support for PCP in terms of its follow up activities, educational and research activities as well as showed his interest in availing the expertise of PCP staff to build the capacity of Healthcare workers in all other Government Hospitals.
