QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has urged HEC to continued provision of funds to Universities in the province uninterruptedly and funds should also be increased that financial problems could be addressed.
This he said while speaking to a delegation of Higher Education Commission headed by its Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed called on him here Thursday.
Vice Chancellors of six public sector Universities were also present at the meeting. Governor also urged Universities to maintain financial discipline and fully follow rules and procedures. He said Universities should also take steps for increasing their resources and work on their development projects speedily.
Chairman HEC assured the Governor that provision of funds to Universities form Commission would continue regularly and efforts would also be made for their increase. Vice Chancellors of Six universities apprised Chairman HEC problems of their universities. Chairman assured them that attention would be paid on resolving their problems. He said Commission desires that Universities in Balochistan should make speedy progress.
Later Governor hosted luncheon for Chairman HEC.
VISITS BUITEMS: Chairman HEC also visited Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences here today.
He went round various departments of the University and watched Sports events and other competitions.
Addressing officials of University Chairman HEC Dr Mukhtar Ahmed said HEC was taking all possible measures for promotion of higher education at all Universities in Pakistan. Teachers were being provided all possible incentives. He said various projects were under consideration for increasing and improving capabilities of other officials professional capabilities and soon these would be implemented so that they could mould them with ease according to modern atmosphere.
He said he was proud that BUITEMS has made rapid strives in short span of time. It is beacon light for other institutions of the province.
He congratulated Vice chancellor Engineer Ahmed Farooq Bazai and assured every possible assistance from HEC.
