Peshawar: The Director General NAB (KP) Mr. Irfan Naeem Mangi today distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 9,97,374/- in 27 affectees of M/S Perennials International, Branch Office, University Road Peshawar.
As per details a company with the name of M/S Perennials (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated under Companies Ordinance 1984 with its head office in Model Town Lahore and Branch Office at University Road, Peshawar. As per rules the said company was not entitled / authorized to do commercial banking. However, in sheer violations of rules & regulations the company lured general public by offering them quite un-realistic high profit incentives and succeeded in collecting deposit from general public to the tune of US $ 241225.
The affectees of the company approached the NAB(KP) for redressal of their grievances and recovery of their looted money. The NAB(KP) took the cognizance under cheating public at large provision of the NAB Law and started investigations. Out of 7 accused 2 Directors of the company were arrested by NAB(KP).
The 7 accused person entered into Plea Bargain with NAB(KP) and returned the looted money of the general public. 27 affectees were pad their claims today (Thursday) at NAB (KP) Office in a graceful ceremony of cheques distribution.
The DG NAB (KP) assured the general public that NAB (KP) will continue its efforts without any fear or favour and ensure the return of looted money from the culprits to its rightful heirs. It was also advised that public must be very careful while depositing their hard earned money with private investors / companies as NAB is already investigating several cases of cheating public at large through Muzarbat and similar business.
