CITY: (Katchiabadi residents request SC to uphold right to shelter)

ISLAMABAD: In wake of the impending hearing of their petition in the Supreme Court, dozens of katchiabadi dwellers of the capital city gathered in front of the National Press Club here on Tuesday to demand an end to the CDA’s ongoing operations against 34 katchiabadis in the capital city.

Organized by the World Minorities Alliance and All Pakistan Alliance for Katchiabadis, dozens of residents belonging to different Katchi Abadis, including H-9, G-7, G-8, I-9, I-10 and G-6/2, gathered outside the National Press Club.

They vowed to continue their peaceful struggle against forced evictions by CDA in Islamabad. They demanded the Supreme Court to uphold their right to shelter.
