City (Police register case against lawyers)

SIALKOT: City Daska police have registered a case against as many as seventeen accused local lawyers for brutally torturing and thrashing Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Daska after making him hostage at his office in Daska here on Wednesday.

Case (No. 195/2015) has been registered on the report of victim Malik Tariq Zia TMO Daska under sections 147, 149, 186, 427 and 506 PPC.

According to the FIR, as many as seventeen accused lawyers including Asad Sandhu Advocate, Mian Nasir Advocate, Salman Riaz Advocate, Daud Gull Advocate, Ejaz Ashraf Goraya Advocate and Maqbool Imam Advocate stormed into the office of Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Daska Malik Tariq Zia and they forced him to do an illegal work.

Upon his refusal, the accused overpowered him at his office after locking the door. FIR added that the accused thrashed, abused and brutally tortured the TMO, also broke his mobile phone and snatched several official record files from him.

After listening his (TMO) alarm, the TMA Daska staff rushed there and they saved him from the clutches of the accused lawyers after breaking the office door. FIR revealed that the accused lawyers also tried to bundle the beaten TMO in their vehicle but the TMA staff saved him. Later, the accused fled away by threatening him with dire consequences, in this regard.

Police have started investigation n, with no arrest, in this regard.

Meanwhile, all the staff of TMA Daska including senior and sanitary workers on Thursday observed complete agitational strike, to lodge their strong protest against the said nasty incident, in which local lawyers thrashed and tortured the TMO Daska.

The protesting TMA officials , today, kept all the TMA offices including Municipal Library closed during this strike, demanding early arrest of the accused lawyers, in this regard…#
