CJ takes notice of murder outside LHC

Islamabad: The Chief Justice (CJ) Tasadduq Hussain Jillani on Friday took notice of the murder of a young woman outside Lahore High Court (LHC).

The notice was taken on a report published in media on May 29 containing the details that the murder of a young woman, who was beaten to death with bricks by her family for marrying without their consent. It was further requested to the Supreme Court that the killers be brought to justice and the police officers who were silent bystanders be punished for their inaction, to dispense justice to victim. The CJ also sought a report from Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab within 48 hours.
