Cleanliness campaign starts on Tariq Road

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner East Asif Jan Qazi with Administrator District Municipal Corporation East Rehmatullah Sheikh has on Tuesday started cleanliness campaign on Tariq Road.

Shopkeepers and residents have been bound to put the garbage at the assigned locations, rather than littering it, from where DMC staff would lift it. While, parking areas should be utilized by removing encroachments and illegal parking from them.

The DC and administrator DMC East inspected the adjacent streets of Tariq Road and asked President Tariq Road Trader Welfare Association Aslam Bhatti to play his role by using his influence to bound the shopkeepers to obey the orders.

“Shopkeepers should do their business within their legal limits to provide ease to the pedestrians and flow of vehicular traffic,” the shopkeepers were told during the visit.

Superintendant DMC East Fazal Mehmood Gul, Director Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Javed Kalhoro, Director Parks Raza Qaimkhani, focal person Jamshed Zone Shahid Ashraf Choudhry and other officers were also present on the occasion.
