CMCH: rehabilitation works in jeopardy

LARKANA: Medical Superintendent, Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, has written a letter to the Superintending Engineer, SEPCO, Larkana, informing him that that one cheque amounting to Rs 4,989,149 dated 02.04.2015 was issued in favour of XEN Operation, SEPCO Division, Larkana, by the District Accounts Officer, Larkana, to carryout renovation and rehabilitation works at nine various places of this Hospital, as per your Demand Note, for which XEN Construction Division, Sepco, Larkana, also wrote a letter dated: 27.5.2015 to his Sub Divisional Officer for carrying out the works at relevant sites but it is regretted to note that the matter is still lingering.

The work was started by them but left in mid, the letter added, due to which it is presumed that it will not be completed despite receipt of payment. This state of affairs has forced this office to write to the higher authorities so that the delayed work is completed quickly as the summer season is approaching very fast during which electricity load is increasing because of heavy load of costly medical machineries, equipment and instruments including air-conditioners installed in the Wards as old electric cables have become outdated and have fallen down several times in the past, the letter added. In view of above, the MS further wrote, it is requested that concerned authorities may be instructed to complete the above mentioned works quickly so that patients should not suffer. the letter concluded. Copies of this letter have also been sent to high authorities as well.
