CM’s special assistant for boosting sports activities

KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Sports Fayyaz Bhatt said on Thursday that enhancing sports activities will eliminate anxiety among the people in the country.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club during his visit, he said journalists have always been highlighting all sports events sincerely. “Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, by continuing the mission of Benazir Bhutto, had always worked for public welfare and Sindh government is also following his steps.”

He said the Sindh government has always sought to engage people in sports activities and in view of Karachi situation, the provincial government had strived to divert people to sports.

Secretary Sports Sindh Laeeq Khan said about two years had passed, but the Sindh government could not organize Sindh Sports events due some cases pertaining to federal government pending in courts. He said now all the legal obstacles had been removed and they would request the Sindh government to issue additional funds for organizing mega sports events.

Fayyaz said they would construct a sports complex for journalists with special cooperation of the Sindh government.
