Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Irrigation and Social Welfare, Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has said that coalition government in the province was doing its level best to promote the industrial sector and in this connection a new industries policy would be announced on 30th of December in which a lot of incentives have been given for promotion of industries in the province.
This policy would usher in a revolution in the industries sector that would go a long way in ending the problem of unemployment in the province.
These views he expressed while inaugurating the repair work of roads at Hattar Industrial Estate in Haripur the other day. Advisor to the Chief Minister for Industries and Trade Abdul Karim Khan, MPA Gohar Nawaz Khan and others also addressed the ceremony on this occasion.
Speaking on this occasion, Sikandar Hayat Sherpao said that only those countries progress which have rich resources of energy and industries of those countries also flourish. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also rich in resources of energy, gas and oil etc adding that our province was self sufficient in it.
He said that it was unfortunate that despite having rich resources we could not get our industrial sector flourished. He said the new policy would help boost the industries in the province.
Sikandar Sherpao on this occasion strongly criticized the recent increase in gas prices adding that it would have very disastrous effect upon the industries. He asked the federal government to withdraw the said increase.
The Senior Minister on this occasion revealed that salaries of workers welfare board employees have been passed and would be given to them soon. He said that he would soon hold a public meeting in Haripur and would ascertain problems relating to irrigation in order to solve it on priority basis.
Speaking on this occasion, Abdul Karim Khan said our province was confronting the menace of terrorism since the several decades due to which a lot of industrialists have shifted to other provinces.
He said the present provincial government would try to bring those industrialists back to the province. He said that Hattar Industrial Estate would benefit a lot from the proposed industrial incentives being announced by the provincial government as well as the Pak-China Economic Corridor.
He said that a sum of Rs. 558 million have been allocated for construction and repair of roads in Hattar Industrial Estate Haripur adding that problems of the industrialists would be solved on priority basis.
He also urged the industrialists to accommodate the local man power in their industries in order to minimize the unemployment problems in the province.
