ISLAMABAD: Vice Admiral Abdullah S Al-Sultan, Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces is on an official visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Chief of the Naval Staff.
Upon arrival at Naval Headquarters, the Saudi Naval Chief was received by Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah, Chief of the Naval Staff. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy clad in ceremonial dress presented him the Guard of Honour. The visiting dignitary was then introduced to Principal Staff Officers at Naval Headquarters.
Later, Abdullah S Al-Sultan called on Chief of the Naval Staff in his office, where he held a detailed discussion on professional matters with his counterpart. Various avenues of cooperation between the two navies were also discussed in detail. A comprehensive briefing on Pakistan Navy’s role in regional maritime security situation and operational development in the Indian Ocean was also given to the visiting dignitary. Abdullah S. Al-Sultan also called on Defence Minister.
Later, in an prestigious investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Saddar, the Admiral was conferred upon Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) by Acting President Mian Raza Rabbani, one of Pakistan’s highest military awards, in recognition of his distinguished services and significant contributions to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general and Navies of both the brotherly nations in particular.
At the second leg of his visit to Karachi, Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces is scheduled to meet Naval Field Commands and will also visit PN units/facilities. The dignitary will also witness commissioning/passing out parade as chief guest at Pakistan Naval Academy.
Besides holding the appointment as Commander Royal Saudi Naval Forces, the Admiral had the privilege to serve on numerous coveted appointments including Chief of Naval Operations, Western Fleet Commander and RSNF HQs Deputy Chief.
Vice Admiral is a graduate of Pakistan Naval Academy and has undergone Basic, Specialized and Advance Naval Course, Aviation Management Course and General Staff Courses. The Commander RNSF is also recipient of numerous National and International military awards and honours including Sitara-e-Harb and Tamgha-e-Jang from Government of Pakistan.
This visit is expected to greatly augment the bilateral cooperation between both the Navies.
