Commission to monitor health care facilities in Sindh

KARACHI: Provincial Minister Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Tuesday said Sindh Healthcare Commission is a milestone in health sector, which will not only monitor the performance of health care service providers but will also improve these facilities and take action against those involved in negligence.

This he said while presiding over first meeting of the Commission here in Sindh Secretariat Building Karachi. Secretary Health Dr Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo, Prof Tariq Rafique, Prof Ghulam Qadir Kazi, Dr Hadi Bux, Dr Agha Taj, Dr Jamaluddin and other officials attended the meeting.

He directed the members to nominate Commissioners for further functioning of the commission so that the powers might be delegated at division and district level to improve health care facilities in the province.

He said a great responsibility lies on our shoulders and we have to fulfil our duties to come up to the expectations of the people’. He asked them to pay frequent and surprise visits to public and private hospitals to see on ground situation there.
