KARACHI: The project of road, lighting and parking system at Dolmen City, Clifton, was a step from the government to provide security and facilitate citizens, Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said while addressing the inaugurating ceremony on the occasion. He was thankful to Dolmen Group and complemented their enthusiasm in this regard.
Chairman Dolmen Group Nadeem Riaz, Chief Executive Officer Faisal Nadeem, Director Planning, Development & Environment Syed Muhammed Shakib, Assistant Commissioner General Shahzaib Sheikh and other relevant officers were present.
The commissioner said the security wall, new road, lighting arrangement and parking facility would prove to be fruitful for security, safety and ease of the visitors.
“The government wants to provide citizens a serene and secure environment at the shopping and recreational places, so that security and confidence of the visiting families could be developed,” he said.
The commissioner said keeping in view the increasing traffic on BeachView Road, special patching of road from Ghora Chowrangi to Palm Chowrangi was made and a bypass road was laid.
CEO Dolmen Group said the parking area has the capacity for 300 vehicles. Besides, Dolmen Group had made special arrangements for illumination of the surrounding; therefore, 60 new electric poles and 90 sodium-vapor lamps were installed.
Siddiqui said the parking fee and management would be responsibility of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). “The investment of corporate sector to facilitate citizens could be witnessed here. Hopefully, other groups and companies would also follow suit and ‘own’ the city,” he said.
