KARACHI: chief secretary Sindh Mohammad Siddique Memon has asked the commissioners and deputy commissioners to personally monitor the polio eradication campaign in their relevant divisions and districts.
He advised this in a review meeting on polio eradication, held other day in Sindh Secretariat. Minister of state Ms. Sara Afzal Tarrar, Sindh health minister, Jam Mahtab Ali Dahar, senator, Ms. Aysha Raza Farooq, provincial chief for anti polio drive, Mrs. Azra Pechuho, federal secretary, Mohammad Ayoub Shaikh, additional chief secretary, Mohammad Waseem, commissioner Karachi, Shuaib Ahmed Siddique and coordinator Dr. Usman Chachar also addressed the meeting.
Minister of state noted that efficiency and punctuality must be ensured in the large national interest, with the particular reference of polio eradication program.
Sindh health minister said that despite pressure we reverted officers on their deficiency.
Senator Aysha appreciated the interest of Sindh government and administration in performing the anti polio services.
Commissioner Karachi categorically noted that due action is in process against those officers who are not taking interest in the anti polio task.
The meeting unanimously reserved that commissioner Karachi would also work as the head of Karachi task force on polio. He has also been empowered to take the disciplinary action against the officers on their negligence, on behalf of the chief secretary Sindh.
