KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said on Tuesday that the administration would make all out help to special persons to resolve their financial and travelling need with other issues according to their abilities so that they could progress in their lives.
“Special persons are part of our society. They have got skills like other people. Physical unfitness should not hinder their skills demonstration. Exhibiting skills is their primary right,” he said while addressing a meeting regarding special persons with Additional Commissioner Karachi II Haji Ahmed, Chairman Disabled Welfare Association (DWA) Col (r) Ahtesham, President DWA Javed Rais, Yahya Polani from Polani Travel Agency and representatives of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and social welfare organizations were also present on the occasion.
The chairman DWA informed the commissioner Karachi about financial issues faced by special persons and presented some requests as well. He said the needs of the special persons should be fulfilled keeping in view their troubles.
The president DWA requested the government that disabled persons wanted to participate in sports and would like to go to the tournaments being held in Islamabad next month, while they were facing financial deficiency. On this Siddiqui announced 15 air tickets from Karachi to Islamabad in cooperation with Polani Travel Agency.
