Committee formed to regularize health employees

KARACHI: Health Department Sindh has formed a scrutiny committee to regularize contract employees of various programs being run by it, source at health department told PPI on Wednesday.

They said provincial health department had issued a notification for forming scrutiny committee to regularize contract employees of Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), and Hepatitis Prevention and Control Program (HPCP) Sindh from Grade-1 to Grade-15, while scrutiny of Gavi Vaccinator will also be carried out.

About 251 employees are working in MNCH program on contract basis since last several years, out of which 103 are those who are working from Grade-1 to Grade-15 in the program. They informed over 400 employees, including doctors, paramedical staff, nurses and clerical staff has been working in Hepatitis Prevention and Control Program on contract basis since 2009.

The sources further said 700 Gavi Vaccinators are also working on contract basis. The health department has set up a scrutiny committee headed by Special Secretary Public Health Sindh Dr Khalid Sheikh to regularize the contract employees.
