Committee reviews law, order situation in Karachi

KARACHI: A high-level meeting of the operational committee supervising the targeted operation in Karachi reviewed the law and order situation in the metropolis on Wednesday.

The meeting, held at Rangers Headquarters, was jointly chaired by Director General Rangers Sindh Major General Rizwan Akhtar and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Iqbal Mehmood.

Additional Inspector General of Police Sindh, Deputy Director General Rangers, Sector Commanders, DIG Special Branch, DIG Crime Investigation Department (CID), Zonal DIGs and other senior officials also attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the intelligence officials gave briefing on possible acts of terrorism in the city. Aerial footage of several areas were also analyzed in the session.

The officials also discussed a strategy to ensure security of the sensitive places in the city.
