Condolences: (Condolences expressed on the sad demise of Sahabzada Yaqub ALi Khan)

ISLAMABAD: The officers and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday expressed deep sadness and grief on the passing away of Sahabzada Yaqub ALi Khan, an illustrious citizen, diplomat and military officer of Pakistan.

The Advisor to PM, Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant to PM Syed Tariq Fatemi conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry visited the House of Sahabzada Yaqub Khan here on Tuesday and met with his wife and both sons.

They expressed condolence on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Syed Tariq Fatemi, conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family over phone from London, where he is currently accompanying the Prime Minister.

During his outstanding career, Sahabzada Yaqub Khan selflessly served Pakistan’s interests at home and abroad including as Foreign Minister and Ambassador in Washington, Moscow and Paris. His services to Pakistan will be long remembered.

The demise of Sahabzada Yaqub Khan is a great loss not only for the Foreign Service of Pakistan but also the entire nation, they added.
