Cop among four killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Four people, including a policeman, were killed and one other injured in different parts of the city on Wednesday. According to police, a cop, Syed Shahid, 52, son of Ataullah, was shot dead by unidentified armed men’s firing near Matriculation Board Office in North Nazimabad. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident of firing, a 24-year-old man, Mohammad Kamran, was killed by unknown armed men at Mominabad area of Orangi Town. The body was shifted to ASH for postmortem examination.

Syed Ameer Aman, 30, was shot dead by unknown armed men near Goal Market in Nazimabad. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy.

A 23-year-old man, Ibne Raza, son of Azhar Abbas, who was targeted yesterday by armed men near Daak Khana in Liaquatabad C-1 area, breathed his last in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital today.

Separately, a 25-year-old man, Abbas Haider, was critically injured as gunmen opened fire on his car while resisting a robbery bid near Do-Minute Chowrangi in North Karachi. He was rushed to ASH for treatment.
