Cop among two killed in Karachi

KARACHI:,,, Two persons were killed, including a cop, and two others injured in different firing incidents in the city on Monday. An Assistant Sub-Inspector, Asif, 35, son of Shamoon, was killed during an encounter with criminals near Saifullah Hotel in Nazimabad No 2. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.

Police said that unknown armed motorcyclists opened fire on ASI Asif when he stopped them at Nazimabad No-2. Asif was posted at Nazimabad police station.

In another incident of firing, Akram Agha Jaffari, 35, was killed when unidentified armed men open fire on a shop at Muhammadi Colony in Azizabad. The body was shifted to ASH for postmortem examination.

Separately, a 35-year-old man, Munawar, son of Muhammad Ali, was shot at and injured near Hazara Hotel in Manghopir. The injured was rushed to ASH for treatment.

A minor boy, Noor Hussain, seven, son of Muhammad Hussain, was injured by a stray bullet at Khairabad in Orangi Town. The injured was taken to ASH for treatment.
