Cop murder accused remanded to police custody

KARACHI: An Anti-terrorism court-III (ATC-III) on Wednesday remanded two accused, Irfanullah and Amanullah, to police custody till 1st November 2014 in a cop murder case.

Police produced the accused before the ATC-III judge under tight security.

The investigation officer requested the court to allow the physical remand of the two as the police wanted to map out their connections and their accomplices in the crime. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to police custody till 1 November.

According to Prosecution, accused were involved in murder of cop Inspector Syed Ghazanfar Ali Kazmi on 13 August 2014 near Anklesaria Hospital within the jurisdiction of Nabi Bux police station.

The case FIR 168/2014 was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) and 34 (common intention) act of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act at the Nabi Bux police station.
