Cop murder accused remanded to police

Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court ATC on Monday remanded an accused, Tasadduq Nauman, to police custody till 28th March 2015 in a case pertaining to murder of cop Babar Ali.

Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security. The investigation officer Inspector Rana Ghulam Jabbar requested the court to allow the physical remand of the accused as the police wanted to map out his connections and accomplices in the crime. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to their custody till 28th March.

According to the prosecution, the accused with his accomplices was involved in killing of Assistant Sub-Inspector Babar Ali in Orangi Town on 19 September 2014.

The case FIR 436/14 was registered under section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
