Cop murder accused sent on physical remand

KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday handed over three suspects to police on physical remand in the murder case of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of police Jamaluddin.

The police produced Syed Mohammad Haider Zaidi, Syed Sheraz Haider Zaidi and Tauseef alias Boby before the administrative judge of ATC, Justice Mohammad Farooq Shah, amid tight security.

According to police, the suspects were involved in killing ASI Jamaluddin within the limits of Bahadurabad police stations on 23rd November 2013.

The investigation officer requested the court to remand the accused in police’s custody as they are required for interrogation. While accepting IO’s request, the judge handed over the suspects to police on physical remand till 6th February.

The murder case was registered at Bahadurabad police station under section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of Pakistan Penal Code read with section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
