KARACHI: We all want to serve the ailing humanity and as a responsible corporate sector we will continue to play our due role in social welfare activities, said chief executive of the Trade Development Association of Pakistan S M Munir.
He was addressing as chief guest to the annual fund raising event of Al-Mustafa Trust and Medical Center at Creek Club. He said government alone cannot solve all the issues and the role of private sector in welfare activities cannot be ignored. He said we will continue to play our role is furthering the social service cause through philanthropy.
Al-Mustafa Trust chairman Lt Gen (retd) Ghulam Mohammad Malik said Al-Mustafa Trust in not only working in different parts of Pakistan, but it is also working in the UK. He said the Trust provides free of cost medical facilities to deserving people. He said presently there are eleven branches of Al-Mustafa Trust operating in Pakistan and soon a new branch would be opened in Khushab district.
Vice Chairman of Al-Mustafa Trust Mustafa Khan said the Trust wants to extend the reach of its services to the rural areas of Pakistan so that to facilitate the poor people living in the far flung areas of the country.
Chief Executive Officer of Sita Pakistan Pirzada Mohammad Ajmal Farooqui said the serving humanity is not less than worship and it is the best way to seek the mercy of God.
Noted industrialist Abdullah Dadabhoy said that the social organizations are discharging the responsibilities that should have been discharged by the government departments. He urged the government to facilitate the social organizations.
Mohammad Naseem Shafi, chairman Shafi Industries, said the philanthropists should come forward to lessen the burden of social welfare organizations. On the occasion, Suhail Basheer, Al-Kazim Mansoor, Imran Pirzada, Adnan Farooqui, Ahsanullah Khan, G R Arshid and others were present. Col. (retd) Ayaz Malik was the moderator of the event, while Rais Ahmed recited from the Holy Quran, and Naat.
