Court: (Justice Mian Saqib Nisar takes oath as acting CJP)

ISLAMABAD: Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, a senior most judge of the Supreme Court, took oath as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) here on Thursday.

The oath was administered by Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa in a simple ceremony held here in the Supreme Court. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will act as CJP during the period, the CJP Anwar Zaheer Jamali, remains abroad.

The oath taking ceremony was attended by Judges of the Supreme Court, Attorney General for Pakistan, senior lawyers and officers of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.

Arbab Mohammad Arif, Registrar, Supreme Court, conducted the proceedings of oath taking ceremony. Officers and staff of the Supreme Court were also present at the occasion.
