CT Scan machine opens at Lyari Hospital

KARACHI: Member National Assembly, Pakistan People Party (PPP), Shahjahan Baloch, on Wednesday said provision of health facilities to under-privilege areas of the Sindh province is the top priority of PPP-led provincial government.

This he said at inaugural ceremony of CT Scan machine in Lyari General Hospital. A large number of doctors and other medical staff were also present on this occasion.

Medical Superintendent, LGH, Dr Aziz Soomro, while talking to media men, said CT Scan machine installed in hospital to serve people of Lyari in better way as people of the area have to go to other areas to avail the facility.

He said people injured in different incidents particularly road accidents, can avail the facility which is useful to detect head injuries and other hidden injuries. He said CT Scan test, which is very costly at private facilities, will be provided free of cost by LGH.

Additional Medical Superintendent, LGH, Dr Khadim Hussain Qureshi, termed the installation of the CT scan machine in the hospital a positive step towards to provision of health facilities to the citizens. He informed that 15 CT scan tests have been conducted in hospital so far.

It was relevant to mention here the CT Scan machine was brought in hospital about five years ago, but it could not be made functional timely due to shortage of funds and lethargy of provincial health authorities. The incumbent administration of hospital finally made operational CT Scan machine.
