Peshawar: A day long cultural and fun- fair was organized in the Tahir Iqbal Shaheed Public School & College Landikotal’s cantonment with the aim to attract the youth community to their culture and traditions here on Saturday.
In this connection, a colorful fair was arranged in the lawn of the school.
Numerous stalls were set up, decorated with dresses and traditional food items representing the four provinces and the tribal belt. The school students showed their abilities in different games and through speeches highlighted importance of education. Hundreds of private schools students, parents of the school & college students and elders attended the event at the fair and amused it. The school staff established different stalls and were beautified with different Pakistani dresses and foodstuffs. Huge numbers of local masses thronged to the fair and enjoyed the customary taste of food.
Member National Assembly (MNA) Alhaj Shahjee Gul Afridi who was the chief guest flanked by Col Kamal Mazaari and the school Principal Shah Fayaz formally inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon. Addressing on the occasion, Shah Jee Gul congratulated the army officials for setting up standardized educational institution in Landi kotal. The school & college is playing a vital role in educating the tribal children, he remarked. He assured that all the problems being faced by the school including repairing of the school bus will be addressed on priority basis.
He stressed upon the tribesmen to enroll their children in the school for their bright future.
