Cycling: Pakistan cyclists off for Astana

Karachi:,,, Pakistan National Cycling team left for Astana, Kazakhstan, Friday to participate in the Asian Cycling Championship. The Pakistani contingent consists of seven cyclists and three officials. Pakistan will participate only in road events of the championship.

Ghulam Hussain and Faisal Zaheer will compete in U-18 category during the championship. Meanwhile, Muhammad Sajid, Zeeshan Ali, Abid Tariq, Najeebullah and Hafiz Tahir Mahmood will compete in the U-23 categories.

Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) being an affiliated unit of Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) and Union Cyclist International (UCI) is also invited for ACC Congress Meeting scheduled to be held on May 27 at Astana and UCI Sharing Platform meeting.

Syed Azhar Ali Shah, Secretary General, PCF and Col. Asghar Bodla, Sr. Vice President, PCF, will represent Pakistan in these meetings.
