Karachi: Pasban e Pakistan Karachi chapter president Shaikh Muhammad Shakeel has demanded of that the police should be purged from the black sheep, who are the source of disgrace for police force.
In a statement released Tuesday, he said that previous day a 70-years-old social worker Mama Muhammad Abbas of Sajjan Goth, Mawach informed the Paban Helpline that on the night between November 8 and 9, police in plainclothes entered a house through a ladder and harassed inmates, ransacked the household items, looted cash, a motorcycle, four goats, one sheep, a water pump and other items and threatened the inmates to keep their mouth shut.
In morning the affected family on the advice of neighbors informed Saeedabad police station. However, the head Muharrar of the police station told them that the SHO was not present and they should visit in evening. At that time the stolen goats were tethered in the police station.
In the evening when they visited the police station along with social worker Mama Abbas, the police put Mama Abbas in lockup and forced other complainants to leave the police station, harassing and misbehaving them.
Pasban Helpline through fax informed Governor House, Chief Minister House, IG Police Sindh and additional IGP Karachi.
On this the Saeedabad police became angered and a bogus FIR number 130/14 was lodged against Mama Abbas at 10:20pm.
Shaikh Shakeel said the federal and provincial governments are spending billions of rupees on improving law and order situation, but the black sheep in Sindh are all set to foil these efforts of government. He said due to these black sheep, there is hatred against the police among general public.
He demanded of the government to take efforts to purge the police force from the black sheep. He said if the government did not take action these black sheep the law and order situation in Karachi would further go deteriorated.
He demanded from the Sindh government and police authorities to take notice of this robbery by police and quash the bogus FIR against Mama Muhammad Abbas and return the looted good to the affected family and take legal action against the policemen involved in this incident.
