Demo against provincial secretary

KARACHI: All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) on Thursday staged a protest demonstration and sit-in outside the Karachi Press Club against alleged corruption of secretary population welfare department of Sindh, and demanded for his removal and probe against him.

The protestors, including women employees, carrying placards and banners, shouted slogans against the alleged embezzlements of secretary.

APCA Sindh President Mohammad Peral Dayo demanded of the higher authorities to conduct probe against the secretary for his alleged involvement in corruption and misuse of powers.

He said for last four years no any employee of department has been promoted. He said the staff is not given TA/DA allowances.

Dayo said the social mobilizers, working in department since long, are no provided their salaries for last six months even they are not regularized according to the rules of the department.

He revealed that most of the Sindh Population Department’s buildings are hired on rent but due to non issuance of funds, staff faces problems in paying rent and other utility bills.

He said that as the department focuses on women related and family planning issues, and it consist of 60% of females and 40% of males, but the female staff faces problems due to lack of transport facilities.

He demanded to conduct high level investigation against the secretary and his allies. He said that they would provide evidences in press conference scheduled on 20 December 2015.

APCA Chairman Dost Ali Shaikh, Senior vice Present Luqman Bughio, general Secretary Sindh Shaheen Qudoos and others were present on the occasion.
