Demo held against killing of journalist

KARACHI: Members of United Human Rights Commission Pakistan (UHRCP) under leadership of its Secretary General Rana Faizul Hassan on Sunday staged a protest demonstration against target killing of social worker Ayaz and journalist Muhammad Rizwan.

The protesters, carrying placards and banners, were chanting slogans against builders mafia and corrupt officers of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).

Speaking on the occasion, leaders Rana Faizul Hassan and others demanded of Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto action against the killing of the social worker and the journalist and help arrest killers.

They also demanded of the government to provide proper security to social workers and journalists.

Rana said that it was second act of target killing within the limit of Sir Syed police station, as earlier social worker Ayaz was killed. He said that Rizwan was working on a report against builders mafia and corrupt officers of SBCA. Rana said that Rizwan’s blood would not go in vain.
