Demos in Karachi support Kashmiris

KARACHI: Sunni Ittehad Council Pakistan and National Forum for Human Rights of Pakistan held protest demonstrations separately on Thursday outside the Karachi Press Club against the occupation of held-Kashmir by India and showing solidarity with Kashimiri people on the eve of Kashmir Day.

A large number of people carrying placards and banners attended the demos and raised slogans in favor of Kashmir.

Addressing the participants, Pir Mukhtar Siddiqui, Mufti Shehzad Raza Qadri of Sunni Ittehad Council said Kashmir is not a regional issue but it is the issue of giving the right of self determination to Kashmiris as resolved by UN approved resolutions and wills of Kashmiri people.

They said Indian aggressive mood and international community’s double standard was the result of non-resolving issue of Kashmir. They said overlooking of international community, was not only shameful act but also condemnable. They demanded that UN should compel India to act upon the passed resolutions; otherwise, impose international restrictions on India.

Aslam Khan and Iqbal Tiger of NFHRP said every child of Pakistan supports the Kashmiri people. Pakistani government should make effective and positive policy for resolving the Kashmir issue on priority. They said India is violating the laws and norms of human rights and also committing serious war crimes in the held Kashmir but still the UN is watching these horrible acts like a silent spectator.
