Dengue fever claimed 11 lives in 2015

KARACHI: As many as 3,692 dengue fever cases have been reported across the Sindh province in 2015, out of which 3,596 were detected in Karachi alone, while dengue fever claimed eleven precious lives last year and all were reported from Karachi.

The yearly report released by Dengue Prevention and Control Program Sindh revealed that 11 people died of deadly dengue viral fever in 2015 and all cases were reported from Karachi.

A total 3,692 dengue fever cases were reported from Sindh province from 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2015, out of which 3,596 were detected in Karachi.

Report further stated that 40 cases were reported from Hyderabad, nine from Larkana, eight from Mirpurkhas, seven from Umerkot, six from Jamshoro, four from Shaheed Benazirabad, three each from Thatta, Sukkur, Ghotki & Sanghar, two each from Matiari, Badin & Tharparkar, one each from Dadu, Shikarpur, Jaccobabad and Naushehro Feroze .
