Dept of PA holds SEC polls

KARACHI: Department of Public Administration Students’ Executive Council (SEC) election 2015 was held here amidst great enthusiasm and anticipation.

The SEC consists of four posts, namely President from MPA Final, General Secretary from BPA Final, and one Joint Secretary from BPA and MPA each.

The candidates standing for these posts this year were Ali Shafi, Buzmi Abbas and Imran Anwer for President. Haris Hasan Khan, Shafaq Zehra, Yamna Batool and Zohaib Saeed for General Secretary, Aamnah Kareem and Abdul Mannan for Joint Secretary BPA and Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Salik for Joint Secretary of MPA.

The DPA ground was bumming with enthusiastic faces as the election process went on.  It was a really close contest and the end all the deserving candidates won.

Imran Anwer with 129 votes bagged the post for President followed closely by Ali Shafi with 99 votes. Shafaq Zehra was elected as the General Secretary with 113 votes and Yamna Jafri with 76 votes remain runners up. For Joint Secretary BSPA Aamnah Kareem won with an over whelming majority of 187 votes. Abdul Mannan got 96 only. Mohammad Haris gave a close competition to Mohammad Salik with 152 to 130 votes.

The day ended with Professor Khalid Iraqi, Dean of Management Sciences giving an ending speech and boosting up the work of all the candidates.

The election was held under the supervision of Dr Shabib ul Hasan, Chairman DPA and Mustafa Hyder.
