ISLAMABAD: Chinese President Xi Jinping says his country attaches high priority to its strategic partnership with Pakistan and will always support it on all international and regional issues.
The Chinese President in a meeting with President Mamnoon Hussain said China values its deep-rooted friendship with Pakistan and considers it a high priority in its foreign policy.
Briefing about the meeting of the two leaders, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Tariq
Fatemi told APP that the Chinese President mentioned about the level of excellent and strong relations between Pakistan and China and also termed it an example for other countries.
He said both leaders stressed the need to materialize the joint vision of Pakistan and China for prosperity in the region. President Xi assured President Mamnoon that he had the firm resolve that the Chinese government and companies would keep their maximum focus on the on-going projects in Pakistan and would ensure their timely completion.
President Mamnoon expressed satisfaction over the progress of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and added that the project would usher in peace and prosperity not only Pakistan, but also the entire region.
The President reiterated Pakistan’s desire to have peaceful relations with its neighbours including India and apprised the Chinese President that Pakistan had always been willing to hold dialogue with India for resolution of all outstanding issues. The President said Pakistan valued China’s efforts in promoting intra-Afghan dialogue for sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
