SIALKOT: The local district governments have declared as many as 403 private commercial and residential buildings as dangerous in Gujranwala Division’s all the six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts, advising their owners to ensure their early repairing or demolishing to avert any untoward incident, in this regard.
According to the senior officials, out of these 403 dangerous declared buildings, as many as 238 buildings were in very miserable conditions as their walls and roofs were crumbling there, these 238 buildings were stated to be more than two centuries old.
The local governments have feared that these buildings could be collapsed at any time. They have also issued the warning notices to their owners to ensure their early proper repairing or demolish them at earliest to avert any untoward incident.
The concerned officials added that the local governments have already bulldozed as many as such 50 buildings , sealed 34 dangerous buildings besides getting evacuated 101 such dangerous declared buildings in Gujranwala Division in a bid to avert any untoward incident, in this regard.
