SIALKOT: The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday sent the accused pro-Taliban leader Muhamamd Azam on 14-day judicial remand to Sialkot District Jail.
Inspector Tahir Majeed Khan (SHO Daska Saddar police station) told that the Daska police on Thursday produced the accused pro-Taliban leader before the ATC Gujranwala amid tight security, seeking the judicial remand of the accused. The ATC sent the accused to Sialkot District Jail on two-week long judicial remand.
On Wednesday, the Daska Saddar police had arrested a local Taliban leader Mohammad Azam from village Glotiyaan Kalan in Daska tehsil red handed while delivering pro-Taliban speech in a public meeting and motivating the local people towards the Talibanization.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Daska Engineer Rana Zahid Hussain told that the Daska Saddar police had registered a case (No. 57/2015) against the accused under 9 ATA.
FIR said that the accused Taliban leader Muhamamd Azam was terming Taliban’s suicidal attacks as true and legal, alleging that the Pakistan government was doing injustice by taking action against Taliban. The accused had also allegedly distributed the pro-Taliban printed materials including booklets and broachers in favour of Usama Bin Laden.
