SIALKOT: District Development Coordination Committee Sialkot has expressed grave concern over the snail paced construction work of all the ongoing social welfare and development oriented schemes in Sialkot district’s all the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils here.
Sialkot District Coordination Officer (DCO) Dr. Asif Tufail presided over the meeting. While addressing the meeting, MNA Ch. Armughan Subhani expressed dissatisfaction over the very slow speed of the construction work of the small and big roads in Sialkot district, saying that there were complaints regarding the use of substandard construction material in the construction of these roads.
He said that due to inordinate delay in the completion of these roads, the local people have been suffering from great ordeal, in this regard. He also directed the district heads of the nation-building departments to probe into the matter besides making hectic efforts to ensure the timely completion of all the ongoing development schemes in Sialkot district.
The Committee also stressed the need of early removal of all the seen and unseen hurdles from the smooth way of timely completion of these schemes, in this regard.
The meeting was told that a direly needed Traffic Management Committee has been formulated to resolve the traffic related issues amicably , as a special summary has already been sent to the Punjab government seeking final approval for recruiting as many as 550 traffic wardens in Sialkot city for controlling the traffic mess in Sialkot city as well.
On this occasion, DCO Sialkot Dr. Asif Tufail assured the local parliamentarians that all the hurdles would soon be removed from the smooth way of timely completion of all the under completion development schemes after detailed consultations with them, in this regard.
Local elected representatives including MNAs Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah, Ch. Armughan Subhani and local MPAs Ch. Mohammad Ikram, Mansha Ullah Butt, Ch. Tariq Akhtar Subhani, Rana Liaqat Ali, Rana Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Asif Bajwa and the district heads of the nation-building departments attended the meeting.
