SIALKOT: Thousands of people on Thursday made a chain of human hands on the eve of ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ here to express complete solidarity with the innocent and oppressed people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The people observed the Kashmir Day with traditional zeal, enthusiasm and fervor peacefully. Almost all the political and religious parties including Jamaatud Daawa , NGOs and civil society organizations took out rallies in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur, Chawinda, Badiana , Shakargarh, Zafarwal, Narowal and surrounding areas.
The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with the slogans “Give right of self determination to the people of Kashmir’. They were chanting anti-India slogans. They also burnt the effigies of fundamentalists Hindu leaders.
In Sialkot, Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) subsidiary Shabab-e-Milli also took out a separate rally and held a big public meeting at city’s congested Allama Iqbal Chowk.
JI’s parliamentary leader Sahibzada Tariq Ullah Khan led the rally. Ameer JI Sialkot District Sheikh Attiqur Rehman, President Sialkot District Bar Aassociation Khawaja Awais Mushtaq, former MPA Arshad Mehmood Baggu and Arif Mehmood Sheikh were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the participants, Sahibzada Tariq Ullah Khan asked the world to ensure the Scotland like plebiscite in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said durable peace could never be established in Asia without the peaceful solution of Kashmir issue, adding that Kashmir dispute had now become a flash point between the two nuclear neighbours.
He urged the world to use its influence to pressurize India for peaceful solution of burning issue of Kashmir as per aspirations of the people of the Held Valley.
He also urged the Pakistan government to adopt a clear and bold stance over the burning issue of Kashmir, adding that now time was ripe to adopt a clear and bold stance against India for early resolution of Kashmir dispute and to end the rising human rights violations by Occupant Indian Army in the Occupied Jammu Kashmir.
He expressed complete solidarity with the depressed people of the held valley and said that the sun of freedom of Kashmir will rise soon and people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir will soon get freedom from Indian oppression.
Thousands of women from all walks of life also took out a peaceful anti-India rally to express solidarity with the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In Daska, Ameer Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnah Punjab Allama Qari Khalid Mehmood led the Kashmir Rally, which began from Millaad Chowk and ended at Rest House Chowk after passing through all the main inter-city roads. The rally’s participants were carrying banners and placards. They were also chanting anti India slogans.
