District: (Tractor trolley driver killed as train collides at unmanned railway crossing near Pasrur)

SIALKOT: Mohammad Sajjad (35 years old) , a driver of tractor trolley, was killed in a collision between Sialkot-Lahore-Karachi Bound Allama Iqbal Express train and a tractor trolley at an unmanned railway crossing near village Ucha Pahaaran-Pasrur tehsil here on Sunday,

According to details, Mohammad Sajid was going to load sand from nearby seasonal Naullah Dek, when he tried to cross the railway track through the unmanned railway crossing near village Ucha Pahaaran, when the Allama Iqbal Express train badly hit the tractor trolley there, killing trolley’s driver on the spot.

While, the tractor trolley broke into several pieces, which spread there along the railway track. Deceased driver belonged to village Taqipur of Pasrur tehsil here.

The engine of the train Allama Iqbal Express train was also badly damaged in this accident, due to which the train remained halted there on the accident spot for about six hours. The train was going to Lahore from Sialkot via Pasrur, when it met with accident.

The local people halted the train for several hours, demanding stern legal action against the accused train driver and other responsible person in this regard. They kept the rail traffic blocked for several hours on main Sialkot-Pasrur Railway Track here.

Senior officials of district administration of Sialkot and Pakistan Railways (PR) reached there from Sialkot and they negotiated with the protesting people.

The local people strongly protested against this accident, which took the life of a person. The officials assured them about stern legal action against the responsible persons. On this, the protesting people dispersed peacefully. Police shifted the dead body to the local hospital for autopsy,
