District: Under fire standing wheat yield saved

Sialkot: The firefighters of Rescue 1122 Sialkot on Sunday saved  the standing wheat yield on as many as 500 acres from burning by extinguishing the high flamed fire in the nearby jungle in bordering area of Chaprar-Sialkot along the Sialkot Working Boundary.

The fire was erupted in the jungle early in Sunday morning, which engulfed the whole jungle, moving towards the nearby fields.

The Rescue 1122 officials told the newsmen that it took about five hours to extinguish the jungle fire and save the standing wheat crops on 500 acres from burning. Rescue 1122 Sialkot, today, made this successful firefighting operation on the eve of the International Day of the Firefighters being observed today.
