District: (Year 2015 remained tough for motorcyclists in Sialkot)

SIALKOT: There is a record increase in motorcycles snatching and theft incidents in Sialkot district during the year 2015 till now and the Sialkot police allegedly remained unable to trace out the culprits directly or indirectly involved in these incidents. As the year 2015 remained “heavy” for the motorcyclists in Sialkot district.

According to the official statistics, the Daska police circle remained on top in motorcycles’ theft and snatching incidents. The dacoits snatched 41 motorcycle during separate incidents while unknown bike-lifters took away 98 motorcycles in separate incidents occurred in Daska police circle during eleven months of year 2015.

In Daska, 71 dacoity incidents, 66 house and shops burglary incidents and 115 incidents of small and big thefts occurred in various parts of Daska city were reported to Daska police. 38 separate incidents of kidnapping were also registered in Daska police circle during year 2015 till now.

In Sialkot city police circle, unknown dacoits snatched 25 motorcycles in separate incidents, besides 12 motorcycles and two cars were also stolen fom various parts of Sialkot city during the last month.

As many as13 incidents of major robberies and eight incidents of house burglaries were also reported from Sialkot city to police.

When contacted, the concerned senior police officials said that the shortage of the police personnel in Sialkot district remained the main cause behind the Sialkot police failure in controlling the heinous natured and street crimes in Sialkot district’s all the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils as well.
