DMC East launches cleanliness drive

KARACHI: On the special directives of Sindh Minister for Local Government Nasir Shah, District Municipal Corporation East has commenced a cleanliness campaign and also formed different committees to ensure cleanliness process and solve other issues related to local government.

These views were stated by DMC East Administrator Syed Salahuddin Ahmed while presiding over a departmental meeting on Tuesday. It was also attended by Municipal Commissioner Nadar Khan, Superintending Engineer Fazal Mahmud and other officials.

He urged officials to implement these orders and bring positive changes regarding cleanliness in their respective areas.

He directed them that trackers should be installed on all cleanliness vehicles for watching their movement, adding all these vehicles should be on the roads. He said all broken roundabouts, main streets and link roads should soon be repaired.

He further said new garbage containers/ dumps would be established in different streets to facilitate people and these all containers should be numbered. He directed progress reports on daily basis.

He also directed the Director IT to strengthen the complaint receiving system so that the issues of citizens could be resolved soon.
