Karachi: Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram believes that pacer Junaid Khan should be a part of the national team even if fails to put strong show in some games.
“Junaid is a bowler who can make a comeback so I think he should be kept in the national team even if he fails to perform in some matches,” Wasim said.
At the moment, Wasim Akram is spearheading a PCB’s two-week Super Speed Stars Program 2015 for young and upcoming fast bowlers underway here at National Stadium.
Wasim said that if a bowler like Junaid is sidelined, the confidence of the bowler might shatter and he may be unable to deliver the goods for the team in future.
Junaid has joined the English County side Middlesex to represent them in the 2015 Royal London One-Day Cup.
“The county stint will certainly help Junaid gain his confidence and start performing well again,” Wasim added.
After below par showing in series against Bangladesh, Junaid was not picked for the tour of Sri Lanka.
