KARACHI: Hamdard University (HU) nominated Prof Dr Mohammad Iqbal Chaudhary, Director International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (UoK), as a member Board of Governors of Hamdard University.
An official of the ICCBS, University of Karachi said on Wednesday that the Chancellor Hamdard University Sadia Rashid had suggested the name of Dr. Iqbal Chaudhary as a member of the Board for a period of three years.
The authorities of Hamdard University look forward of proactive role of the leading national scientists for the betterment of the University, he said.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST), Islamabad has already declared Dr Iqbal Chaudhary the second most productive scientist of Pakistan in its directory titled “Research Productivity Award (RPA) 2014-15.
He has written and edited 27 books, most of which have been published in USA and Europe. He is also the author of over 900 research papers and chapters in top international science journals of the West, as well as 32 US patents. The cumulative impact factor of his publications is over 1,650. This is by far the largest number of quality publications from any scientist in Pakistan. He supervised 67 students under PhD program, and 18 under M Phil. He is the volume editor of many international book series and journals. He has served as a visiting faculty in many prestigious universities of the world
He has won various international and national awards, including Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz.
