NAUNDERO: Government’s all electricity connections in Naundero have been disconnected on non-payment of arrears amounting to Rs1 billion, said SEPCO Executive Engineer Mutaharik Hussain Mashori here on Friday who was accompanied by SDO Naundero Subdivision Shafqat Hussain Lashari.

He said the disconnections include all boys and girls primary, high and higher secondary schools and colleges, municipal committee, Rest House, Post Office, Animal Husbandry Hospital, Maternity Home and other offices. He said power supply of all government schools of Garhi Khuda Bux and Panjudero villages had also been cut off.

Mashori further said that operation against illegal electricity connections will continue and no power thief will be spared.

On the other hand, 10-hour-long announced load shedding is being carried out daily here, whereas grid station authorities also continue to stop supply to the residents at their own will. Since last three days, electricity supply to over five transformers has been disconnected on the pretext of repairing work at 3.00 pm which is restored at 9.00 pm without providing any relief to these consumers who are clearing their bills regularly. The citizens have urged the higher authorities to take notice of this highhandedness and provide relief.
