Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has approved a package for education of the children working at brick kilns.
The approval was given at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif through video link on Saturday.
The package envisages monthly scholarship for the children besides free of cost provision of stationery, books and uniform.
The chief minister said the parents will be given two thousand rupees for sending their children doing labour at brick kilns to schools. The children who go to school during the current academic session will also receive one thousand rupees each.
Shahbaz Sharif said eliminating child labour at brick kilns is his mission. He said the brick kilns owners who violate labour laws will be sent to jail.
