Educational delegation visits China

KARACHI: Chinese government and nation has adopted an exceptional strategy for the promotion of Chinese Language and culture. Promotion of Chinese language in the light of Chinese development in every sector of life is a dire need of today. China has achieved tremendous development in almost every sector of life and has risen as the upcoming economic giant. China is investing $ 46 billion in the Pak China Economic Corridor which is a bright example of the strong friendship of Pakistan and China and it will further the ties.

These views were expressed by Jamil Kazmi Member Syndicate and Chairman Geography Dept. University of Karachi while visiting Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu, China, on the invitation to Confucius Institute, Hanban Headquarters with a Pakistani Education Delegation.

The delegation was comprised of Moin Siddiqui, Director Confucius Institute, University of Karachi, Syed Wajahat Ali, Advisor for Higher Education, Governor of Sindh, Prof Dr Akhtar Baloch Vice-Chancellor Benazir Bhutto University, Karachi, Prof Dr M Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Department of Microbiology, University of Karachi, Noman Alam, Director, Health Institute, Dow University, Karachi, Ovais Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Jinnah-Sindh Medical University, Karachi, Mohammad Askari, senior journalist, Dr Sajjad Haider Naqvi, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, University of Karachi and Coordinator, Winter Camp 2015 and students of Confucius Institute KU while the Dr Jamil Kazmi was the focal person of the delegation.

Dr Kazmi said, Pakistan and China always protected the mutual interests of each other’s and always came out as mutually trusted allies. Pakistan is a great country and we must feel proud of being a Pakistani.

“Confucius Institute KU was the second Institute of its kind founded in Pakistan and now Confucius Institutes are being founded in every

provincial capital. More than 480 Confucius Institutes are functional in all over the world” said the Kazmi. He lauded the efforts of the worthy Vice Chancellor KU for taking personal interest in the formation of Chinese Cultural Centre. KU will submit proposal to the Sichuan Normal University to strengthen the collaborative projects between the partner universities”, he added.

General Director, Party Secretary Sichuan Normal University China Prof Zhou Jieming warmly welcomed the Pakistani educational delegation led by Dr Kazmi and called for more future collaborative agreements in many other disciplines of mutual interest.
