Eight killed in city mishaps

KARACHI: Five persons were killed in different road mishaps and three others died in separate incidents in the metropolis on Wednesday.

An unidentified man, aged about 25, was hit and killed by a speedy vehicle near Chirag Hotel in Landhi. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy.

An unidentified man, 35, died when a speedy vehicle hit him near toll plaza, Superhighway. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

One man, Shehzad, 25, son of Qadir Baksh, was killed in a road mishap on Maripur Road, Gulbai area. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy.

Two unidentified persons, aged between 28 and 30, were killed in Dunbha Goth near Toll Plaza in a road mishap. The bodies were shifted to morgue.

Two suicide cases were reported from different places. In Tori Bangash, Orangi Town a man, Ghulam Akber, 32, was found dead strangulated at his home. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In another suicide incident a woman, Saira, 35, daughter of Mohammad Shahid, was found dead in her home at Usmanabad Street 3 in Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy.

According to, rescue sources a youngster, Osama, 16, son of Naimat, died when a wall collapsed over him near Ahsanabad police post. The body was shifted to morgue.
