Eight killed in different mishaps

KARACHI: Eight people were killed in different mishaps in the metropolis on Wednesday.

Murad, 35, son of Allah Yar, and Faisal, 25, son of Zafar, were killed when a speeding vehicle hit them at Ghaghar Phatak in Gulshan Hadeed. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

In another road accident, two men, Major (retired) Hameed Jalal, 50, and Ishtiaq Hussain, 50, died on the spot when their car crashed with a vehicle. Car driver fled soon after the accident. The bodies were shifted to JPMC for autopsies.

An unidentified youth aged about, 24, died when unknown vehicle hit him on Baloch Colony to Korangi Crossing road. The body was shifted to JPMC.

In Defense Housing Authority, one Asad, 22, son of Asghar Ali, was died on the spot when a speeding car hit him. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.

A man Momin, 45, died when an elevator fell in Dastagir Plaza in Jamshed Road 3. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy.

According to rescue sources, a man, Sleem, 45, committed suicide by swallowing poison at his home in Azizabad. The body was shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities.
